Shadow Review

Updated: Nov 24, 2021

This highly-anticipated sequel to Dust (and the conclusion to The Heirs of Neverland Duology) did not disappoint! Packed full of action, romance, emotion, magic, heartache, and of course, light, Shadow delves into the darker side of Neverland and answers the countless questions introduced in Dust.

Once again, Miss Swanson beautifully weaves threads of hope throughout the story, exquisitely displaying the fight between light and darkness.

One of my favourite things about this book is the way the island reflects the characters—to the extent that it almost seems like a character itself. It changes along with the plot and gradually reveals secrets that were hidden behind its beautiful façade.

I’d recommend it to anyone who loved Dust, fans of fantasy, and fans of fairy-tale retellings.

*Note: This is a sequel, so I would NOT recommend reading it before reading Dust.
